Laboratory Workup

Essential laboratory tests in the initial diagnostic workup of MZL are1*:

  • Complete blood count (CBC) with differential
  • Complete metabolic panel (CMP)
  • Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) test
  • Hepatitis B and C testing
  • Pregnancy test (if patient is of childbearing age and if chemotherapy or radiation therapy [RT] is planned)
  • H. pylori testing for gastric MALT
  • SPEP and/or quantitative immunoglobulins for splenic MZL
